Surendra Singh Choudhry, famously known on social media as 'Bittu Tabahi' for his inspiring river cleaning campaigns in Madhya Pradesh, has now expanded his mission to the national capital. He recently reached Delhi to clean the banks of the Yamuna river, and his new video capturing the cleanup drive is spreading like wildfire across social media platforms.
Over the past few weeks, Bittu Tabahi has been travelling across different parts of the country to raise awareness about keeping public spaces and water bodies clean. His dedication during the cleaning of the Ajnar river had previously caught global attention, including that of Boyan Slat, founder of 'The Ocean Cleanup'. Continuing his noble mission, he has now taken his campaign to Delhi to tackle the mounting waste along the Yamuna.
Plastic and Religious Waste Found Along Yamuna
During the special cleanliness drive organized on World Cleanup Day, Bittu Tabahi and his team discovered massive amounts of garbage strewn along the Yamuna banks. The waste primarily consisted of plastic bottles, polythene bags, floral offerings, and remnants of religious rituals. The team worked tirelessly for hours to gather and clear the accumulated trash.
After nearly four and a half hours of relentless physical effort, a staggering 585 kg of garbage was successfully removed from the site. Sharing the update on Instagram, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the local residents and volunteers who joined hands to make the drive a success.
What's Next for the Cleanliness Campaign?
Bittu Tabahi’s mission does not stop in Delhi. He announced that his next destination will be Kherki Daula in Gurugram, where he plans to continue his cleanliness crusade. What started as a local effort along a river in Madhya Pradesh has now transformed into a massive nationwide movement, inspiring people to take responsibility for their local environment.
