With the festive season underway, automakers have begun rolling out special editions and new models to attract buyers. Chinese EV manufacturer BYD has introduced a special edition of its premium electric SUV, the Sealion 7, in the Indian market. Priced at ₹50.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the newly launched 'BYD Sealion 7 Festive Edition' will see a limited run of only 150 units across the country.
Luxury Interiors and Impressive Performance
Based on the standard Sealion 7’s premium variant, the primary highlight of this festive edition is its fresh tan and black interior theme, elevating the cabin's luxury quotient. However, the powertrain, technological framework, and core features remain unchanged. The vehicle packs an 82.56kWh blade battery utilizing the company’s Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, alongside Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC) for optimized stability and handling.
The electric powertrain churns out 230kW (approximately 313hp) of power and 380Nm of torque. According to the company, the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds, delivering an impressive NEDC-estimated range of 567 kilometers on a single charge.
Top-Notch Safety and Advanced Features
Inside, the Sealion 7 Festive Edition is loaded with amenities including a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade, and a head-up display. In terms of passenger safety, the vehicle sets a high benchmark by offering 11 airbags, complementing its 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
