With both Diwali and Chhath dates falling close together during this period, huge crowds are thronging railway stations. Trains like Shramjeevi Express, Magadh Express, Sampoorna Kranti Express, Vaishali Express, and Poorva Express are fully booked months in advance.
Queues outside tatkal ticket counters begin forming in the early hours of the morning, but tickets disappear within seconds of booking opening. Passengers have also complained about active touts and illegal ticket vendors, though the Railway Protection Force (RPF) continues to conduct raids to curb such elements.
Railway Administration's Special Preparations
Recognizing the massive rush and difficulties faced by travelers, Indian Railways has stepped up preparations. According to railway officials, special festival trains are scheduled to run from Delhi, Anand Vihar, and New Delhi railway stations to various key cities in Bihar. Additionally, clone trains will operate on high-density routes.
