In the politics of West Bengal, the ruckus over the name and election symbol of Trinamool Congress (TMC) is not showing any signs of stopping. After the ongoing internal strife within the party and the emergence of two factions, the Election Commission has taken a big and tough decision. The Commission has banned the use of TMC's name and its traditional 'Flowers & Grass' election symbol for the upcoming by-elections. Amidst this political earthquake, BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has strongly attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and held her attitude responsible for this entire situation.
Politics heated up over Election Commission's decision
The interim decision of the Election Commission has increased the stir in this war of rights within TMC. Two clear factions have come face to face within the party, one of which is led by Mamata Banerjee and the other faction has emerged as her opponent Gutur. Both the parties are staking their claim on the real identity of the party. Due to this tussle, the Election Commission had to intervene and options for new names and election symbols have been sought from both the parties.
Responding to this entire incident, Shubhendu Adhikari has made it clear that Bharatiya Janata Party has no role in this decision. He said that this is a completely independent decision of the Election Commission. Taking a direct aim at Mamata Banerjee, he said that if today the party is falling into pieces and there is a crisis in its name and brand, then only the top leadership of the party is responsible for this, which could not keep its clan under control.
Mention of ego and curse of Lord Rama
Subhendu Adhikari continued his sharp stance and blamed Mamata Banerjee's alleged arrogance as the reason for her downfall. He said that any leader or person who is arrogant under the influence of his power, history and the public ultimately show him his rightful place. He gave a big statement linking this entire episode to religion and faith.

During this time, the BJP leader also reminded the statements given by Mamata Banerjee in the past. He said that Mamata had made objectionable comments regarding Hindu religion and Mahakumbh. Apart from this, while referring to the protest rallies taken out during the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Shubhendu said that due to anti-Sanatan policies, he has to see this day today.
