Political Tussle Erupts Over Burari Development Projects
A fresh political controversy has broken out in the national capital regarding the inauguration and foundation stone laying of development works in the Burari assembly constituency. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sanjeev Jha has launched a scathing attack on BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, accusing him of hijacking the credit for developmental projects that were originally sanctioned and processed during the AAP government's tenure.
According to the local legislator, the 66 crore rupee project inaugurated recently in Keshav Nagar was conceptualized and pushed through administrative channels much earlier by the AAP dispensation. This political face-off highlights the aggressive positioning by both parties to claim ownership of grassroots development in Delhi.
Administrative Delays and Tender Approvals
Sanjeev Jha elaborated that the multi-crore project had received official clearance back in 2024. However, the subsequent tendering process faced bureaucratic hurdles and delays at various official levels. The MLA claimed that relentless follow-ups and persistent efforts by his office ensured that the tenders were finally cleared.
He questioned the rationale behind BJP leaders rushing to inaugurate projects whose groundwork and financial approvals were secured through the hard work of the local representatives. Jha alleged that the opposition is merely trying to mislead the public by organizing ribbon-cutting ceremonies for works initiated by others.
Neglect of Adopted Villages Alleged
Expanding his criticism, the AAP MLA brought up the issue of the villages adopted by the BJP MP. He stated that despite taking responsibility for villages like Ibrahimpur and Kadipur, no substantial development work was executed using the MP Local Area Development funds.
Residents fulfilled their civic duties, but the elected representative failed to deliver on promises made to these rural pockets, Jha claimed. He challenged the MP to present an account of any meaningful infrastructure development carried out in those specific areas through parliamentary funds.
