Electric vehicles and passenger safety have once again come under severe scrutiny following a horrific accident in Andhra Pradesh. An electric car suddenly caught massive fire on the Vijayवाड़ा West Bypass, resulting in the tragic deaths of four people who were burnt alive inside the vehicle, while another person sustained critical injuries.
Returning Home From a Family Gathering
According to initial reports, the occupants were returning home after attending a family event in Namburu, Guntur. As their vehicle traversed the Vijayवाड़ा West Bypass, a sudden fire broke out in the electric car. The flames spread with such alarming speed that the occupants were trapped inside with no window of escape.
Eyewitnesses and local authorities rushed to the spot and alerted the fire department. Firefighters managed to douse the flames after strenuous efforts, but unfortunately, four lives could not be saved. The lone survivor is currently undergoing intensive medical treatment with critical burn injuries.
Identification of Victims and Ongoing Police Probe
Authorities have identified the deceased individuals as Kommareddy Ramdev (39) from Nunna, his mother Kommareddy Aruna, a child, and Tiguru Vijaya from Namburu. The tragic incident has plunged the local community into deep grief.
Police and forensic teams are currently investigating the root cause of the blaze. While a short circuit in the battery management system is heavily suspected, a detailed technical inspection will confirm the exact trigger behind this fatal disaster.
