A high-profile administrative meeting has snowballed into a major controversy after a video capturing a heated exchange between a senior IAS officer and a junior JKAS officer surfaced online. The footage shows a tense confrontation regarding official performance and work protocols, drawing sharp reactions from across the administrative and political spectrum.
The viral clip depicts a review session where a senior administrative secretary and a female officer engage in a fierce verbal duel. The video highlights growing concerns over workplace behavior, official conduct, and the treatment of junior personnel in government machinery.
Administrative Association Demands Action
Following the emergence of the video, the Junior Scale KAS Association (AJJSKA) strongly condemned the alleged public humiliation of the female officer. The association announced a pen-down strike in protest and formally appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Secretary, and the General Administration Department to initiate a transparent and impartial inquiry into the incident.
Representatives of the association emphasized that while administrative accountability is essential, no senior official holds the right to use intimidating language or exert undue pressure on subordinates. They demanded a public apology and strict measures to prevent such incidents in official gatherings going forward.
Political Leaders Call Out Behavior
The controversy quickly spilled over into the political arena, with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah publicly criticizing the senior IAS officer's conduct. He noted that the behavior fell far below the expected standards of a senior bureaucrat and that subsequent threats made the situation even more untenable.
Prominent political figures, including PDP leader Iltija Mufti, also echoed these concerns, demanding immediate suspension of the official involved and urging authorities to ensure a safe and respectful work environment for local officers. As investigations and deliberations continue, the incident remains a major talking point in administrative circles.
