Video: Indian Students Harassed in UK Park by Vigilante Group, Told to Leave the Country

A disturbing incident of racial harassment targeting Indian students has emerged from the United Kingdom. Three Indian students taking a stroll in Meriden Park, Solihull, England, were intercepted by a self-appointed vigilante group calling themselves the 'Chelmsley Wood Patriots'. The group questioned the students, filmed them without consent, and issued final warnings never to return to the park.

Viral Video and Group's Justification

The incident came to light after British media outlet 'Metro' reported on the footage. Although the group subsequently deleted the video from their social media accounts, copies continued to circulate widely online. In the footage, a group member aggressively interrogates a student about his presence in England.

The students explained that they typically reside in Birmingham and were merely visiting the area for the day. One student shared that he had been in the UK for two years pursuing a Master's degree. Despite this, the confrontation escalated into threats, with the group demanding that they stay away from areas frequented by families and return immediately to their HMO (House in Multiple Occupation).

Political Backlash and Police Intervention

The Green Party has strongly condemned the incident, stating that there appears to be no reason other than the students' race for them to be targeted in such a manner. Local representatives emphasized that the students were not engaging in any unlawful activity and possessed every right to enjoy public spaces.

Meanwhile, West Midlands Police and Solihull Police acknowledged that they are aware of the incident and the group's activities, confirming that appropriate inquiries and actions are underway. With Indian nationals comprising one of the largest international student cohorts in the UK, such racially charged episodes have reignited safety concerns within the community.
