A shocking incident from Gaya district in Bihar has brought administrative negligence in government schools to the forefront. At the Upkramit Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya Jamuawan in the Wazirganj block, digital classrooms meant for modern learning were reportedly turned into a dance floor by students. A video capturing students grooving to popular Bhojpuri tracks inside the smart class soon made its way to social media platforms, creating widespread uproar.
Taking immediate cognizance of the viral footage, regional education authorities ordered a thorough inquiry into the matter. The preliminary probe revealed blatant disregard for discipline and institutional rules, prompting swift administrative action against the responsible authorities. Examination Interval Misused for Recording Viral Reel
According to official inquiry reports, the incident occurred on September 21 during an examination period. During the mid-exam interval, three students entered the smart classroom facility and recorded themselves dancing to inappropriate songs. The unmonitored environment allowed the students to bypass academic decorum completely.
Once the video surfaced online, local education officials initiated a joint inspection led by the Block Education Officer (BEO) and District Programme Officer (DPO). The inspection team concluded that there was a total lack of administrative control over students by the school management, allowing such indiscipline to thrive unchecked.
Headmaster Ranjan Kumar Faces Immediate Suspension
Following the submission of the inquiry report by the District Education Officer, the Regional Deputy Director of Education of the Magadha division issued an order suspending headmaster Ranjan Kumar with immediate effect. The disciplinary action was initiated under the relevant rules governing high school headmasters in Bihar.
The suspension order states that the headmaster failed to maintain effective administrative control over both teachers and students, resulting in a tarnished reputation for the education department. During the suspension period, the headmaster's official headquarters has been designated as the District Education Officer's office in Gaya, where he will receive a subsistence allowance.
