Big Opportunities for Local Youth: Minister Rajesh Dharmani Launches 'Meal' App at Seer Utsav Job Fair

New Avenues of Employment at Seer Utsav

Using local cultural and social gatherings for constructive developmental initiatives has become a powerful way to uplift communities. In this spirit, a special employment fair was organized during the auspicious Seer Utsav, bringing a renewed wave of hope to unemployed and skilled youth in the region. Jointly organized by the Department of Labor, Employment, and Foreign Employment along with BBNIA, the event demonstrated how local talents can secure strong footholds in the private sector when provided with the right platform.

The mega job fair was formally inaugurated by the Minister for Town and Country Planning, Housing, Technical Education, and Vocational & Industrial Training, Rajesh Dharmani. Accompanied by various departmental officials and industrial leaders, the minister encouraged participating aspirants. Minister Dharmani emphasized that in today's competitive landscape, academic degrees alone are insufficient; practical competence and modern technical skills are equally vital. Consequently, the fair witnessed active participation from both general degree holders and final-year students of ITI Gumarwin.

For ITI students, the fair served as an invaluable opportunity to step beyond textbooks and experience corporate recruitment firsthand. Company representatives noted immense potential among local candidates, proving that with proper guidance and direction, regional youth can excel in professional environments. Such initiatives have significantly boosted the confidence of job seekers while paving the way for future events of a similar scale.

Over 16 Reputed Companies Participate, Hundreds Secure Positions

The success of the employment fair was underscored by the participation of more than 16 prestigious and well-known corporate entities. Prominent names such as TVS Supply Chain Solutions, SIS India, Auro Textile India, India First Life Insurance, Shriram Finance, Jupiter Solution Private Limited, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, LIC of India, Luminous Power Technologies Limited, SBI Life Insurance, Meraqi Ventures Private Limited, Amber Insurance, Havells India, Park Hospital Panchkula, and Alphaindia set up recruitment desks.

Long queues of enthusiastic youth holding resumes formed outside company stalls from early morning. Throughout the day-long recruitment drive, over 400 candidates appeared for interviews. Following rigorous evaluation of their qualifications and skill sets, company officials made initial selections for approximately 200 candidates. Furthermore, candidates requiring secondary rounds of evaluation have been invited directly to corporate headquarters to complete their formal hiring processes.

"Bridging the skill gap between industry demands and the available workforce is a major challenge in providing employment to our youth. The state government is heavily focused on imparting training tailored to industry requirements. Our objective is not merely to provide jobs, but to empower youth with modern skills to make them capable and self-reliant." — Rajesh Dharmani, Technical Education Minister

Launch of the 'Meal' App: Bridging Youth and Industry Digitally

A revolutionary highlight of the employment fair was the unveiling of the 'Meal' mobile application by Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani. Designed to act as an effective bridge between job seekers and industries, this digital platform streamlines the recruitment ecosystem. In today's digital era where convenience is paramount, the application connects aspiring professionals directly with industrial units seeking skilled manpower.

The functionality of the app is designed to be seamless and user-friendly. Job seekers can register free of charge by inputting details regarding their educational qualifications, technical competencies, work experience, personal interests, and career aspirations. Simultaneously, requirements from over 600 industrial units associated with the BBNIA will be matched against the student database. Whenever an industry requires a candidate with specific qualifications, the app will instantly identify and connect suitable individuals with the employer.

Experts believe this digital initiative transcends the limitations of traditional offline job fairs, allowing youth to seek employment opportunities year-round based on their unique skill sets and preferences.
