Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) chief Chirag Paswan has outlined his party's strategy for the upcoming assembly elections. Speaking in Lucknow during a tribute meeting on the sixth death anniversary of his father, former Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan, Chirag made it clear that his party aims to build a strong presence across multiple states rather than limiting itself to a few pockets.
Extensive Preparation in UP and Punjab
During his interaction with the media, Chirag announced that the party is preparing for all 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized, "I will prepare for all 403 seats. Our party has long been a part of coalition politics, but being in an alliance does not simply mean acquiring a handful of seats."
He added that staying prepared for every seat strengthens the organizational grassroots, which ultimately benefits alliance partners when required. Alongside Uttar Pradesh, the party is actively working across all 117 seats in Punjab, mirroring its thorough preparation across all 243 seats in Bihar.
Stance on NDA Seat-Sharing and Opposition
Addressing questions regarding seat-sharing arrangements with the BJP-led NDA in Uttar Pradesh, Chirag noted that it is currently too premature to discuss formal seat negotiations given the distance from the election notification dates. However, he affirmed a mutual desire to move forward collaboratively.
Reacting to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's 'PDA' pitch, Chirag stated that any genuine effort to bring marginalized sections into the mainstream is welcome. He also advised opposition parties to engage constructively with the Election Commission of India directly rather than resorting to constant protests over procedural concerns.
