Couple Went to Meet Friends Found Dead in Canal; 30 Lakh Rupees Deal Sparks Mystery

In a chilling case of betrayal and murder, a Delhi-based youth and his live-in partner, who had gone to meet friends, were found dead in a canal. The gruesome double murder has sent shockwaves through the region. Initial investigations reveal that the deceased youth had recently sold a piece of land and received around 30 lakh rupees, prompting investigators to explore whether this hefty amount served as a motive for the brutal crime.

The Live-In Relationship and Fateful Journey

According to reports, the youth previously ran a general store before shutting it down about eight months ago to move to Delhi with his partner. The couple had been in a live-in relationship since then. On September 26, the two left in a car to visit some old acquaintances. According to family members, the youth last spoke to his mother over the phone on September 30, after which their phones became unreachable, triggering panic and a frantic search.

As days passed without any contact, the family's worst fears were confirmed when police recovered the bodies of both victims from a canal near Asaudha on Sunday evening. Adding to the mystery, the car in which the couple was travelling is still missing. Investigators suspect a premeditated plot to execute the murder and conceal evidence, including the vehicle.

The 30 Lakh Angle and Ongoing Police Investigation

Police are aggressively probing the financial angle, specifically the 30 lakh rupees from the land sale, to ascertain if greed drove the friends to commit the crime. Local police authorities confirmed that two suspects have been arrested and placed on a three-day police remand. Interrogation is underway to uncover the exact sequence of events and recover the missing vehicle and other crucial evidence.
