A state-level earthquake and fire safety mock drill-2026 was successfully conducted on Friday at Future Medical College Hospital in Faridpur, under the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (UPSDMA).
Coordinated Efforts by Administration and Medical Teams
The drill was organized under the close coordination of SDM Vidushi Singh. Various departments, including the medical college hospital, health department, police, fire and rescue teams, and the 108 emergency ambulance service, actively participated in the exercise.
During the drill, various emergency scenarios were simulated, focusing on the safe evacuation of patients, rescue operations, first aid administration, casualty management, and emergency transport via ambulances.
Focus on Every Minute in Disaster Response
Dr. Anurag Gautam, Medical Superintendent of CHC Faridpur, emphasized that every minute counts during a disaster. Such drills help test the hospital's disaster-response mechanism, evacuation procedures, and referral systems practically.
