UP's mega project 'Ganga Expressway': 594 KM journey, runway facility and new thrill of speed

[Main Update] The 'Ganga Expressway', which has revolutionized the infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh, is now moving towards the final stages of its construction. This 594 kilometer long expressway is one of the most important infrastructure projects not only of the state but also of the country. This expressway will directly connect Western Uttar Pradesh with Eastern Uttar Pradesh, which will drastically reduce the distance and time between Meerut and Prayagraj. [Details] This six-lane (expandable to 8 lanes) expressway is designed for a speed of 120 km/h. Its biggest feature is the 3.5 kilometer long airstrip being built near Shahjahanpur. This airstrip can be used for landing and take-off of fighter planes of the Indian Air Force in case of emergency. To make the journey on the expressway fatigue-free, modern rest stops and state-of-the-art safety systems have been arranged. [Background] Ganga Expressway is an important part of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's 'Express Pradesh' vision. In December 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid its foundation stone in Shahjahanpur. This route covers 12 major districts like Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. [Impact] With the commencement of this expressway, the travel time from Delhi to Prayagraj will reduce from 10-12 hours to only 6-7 hours. Development of industrial corridors on its banks will create millions of employment opportunities for the local youth. Also, agricultural products will be able to be transported faster to big markets, which will increase the income of farmers and accelerate the goal of making UP's economy $1 trillion.
