Administrative Action in Supaul: Chhatapur Block Offices Open on Sunday
Government offices and holidays usually go hand in hand, with deserted corridors and locked doors. However, a strikingly different picture emerged in the Chhatapur block of Bihar's Supaul district, surprising everyone.
To give momentum to the Bihar government's ambitious 'Kayakalp Special Campaign' and improve rural livelihoods, block and circle offices kept their doors open despite it being a Sunday. Led by BDO Dr. Rakesh Gupta, a marathon meeting was held to finalize the future of 230 government schemes aimed at transforming 23 panchayats.
Strict Decision Taken After District-Level Review
The special campaign aims to strengthen rural health, education, and social infrastructure. During a recent high-level review meeting at the Lahatan Choudhary Auditorium, several technical and administrative flaws were identified in the selection and implementation of schemes in Chhatapur block.
Faced with strict deadlines, BDO Dr. Rakesh Gupta decided to cancel the Sunday holiday, summoning officials and staff to the office to rectify all errors and finalize the projects properly.
Blueprint Ready for Schools, Hospitals and Anganwadi Centers
According to rural development guidelines, dilapidated sub-health centers, government schools, Anganwadi centers, and community halls are set to be renovated and strengthened. New infrastructure will also be built where necessary.
Approximately 10 priority schemes were selected from each of the 23 gram panchayats in Chhatapur, resulting in a comprehensive blueprint of 230 major development schemes designed to ease daily life for villagers.
Data Uploading Speeded Up After Marathon Session
The Lalit Narayan Auditorium buzzed with activity from early morning on Sunday. BPRO Desh Kumar, IT Assistant Santosh Kumar, along with executive assistants, panchayat secretaries, and technical assistants from all 23 panchayats, attended the meeting.
Under the supervision of BDO Dr. Rakesh Gupta, officials thoroughly reviewed the details, locations, costs, and selection processes of each project. The updated list of 230 schemes is now being rapidly uploaded to the departmental portal for immediate financial and administrative approval.
Strict Monitoring and Transparency in Execution
To ensure transparency and time-bound execution, nodal officers have been appointed at both district and block levels. While the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) serves as the nodal officer at the district level, the BDO is personally overseeing execution at the block level.
Regular online progress reporting will curb delays and corruption, ensuring that all 230 projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
