According to reports, the incident took place outside the district court premises located near Tanakpur Road. The woman had accompanied her husband regarding an old legal dispute. Coincidentally, another man—whom the woman identifies as her lover—was also present at the location. The moment she spotted him, the woman broke away and rushed to hug him publicly without caring about the surrounding crowd.
The sudden turn of events stunned onlookers, and a crowd quickly gathered around the pair. The woman's husband and his relatives immediately intervened, attempting to separate her from the man, but she vehemently refused to leave his side. This resulted in a heated altercation, aggressive pulling, and physical scuffles between the two opposing sides right outside the courtroom gates.

Despite police mediation, the drama continued for a considerable amount of time before the woman eventually left the spot with her lover. As the video gained traction online, local authorities took strict note of the situation. City Circle Officer (CO) Amarnath Verma directed local police stations to verify the facts. Station House Officer (SHO) Premendra Singh confirmed that legal action under Section 151 has been initiated against individuals from both sides to maintain public peace and order.
