Tech couple found dead in Gurugram flat on wife birthday after chilling email to employer

Tragic Incident Unfolds in a Premier Gurugram Housing Society

A shocking and deeply distressing incident has emerged from Gurugram, sending ripples of grief and disbelief through the corporate and local communities. The lifeless bodies of a young tech couple were recovered from their apartment in the upscale M3M Marina residential society located in Sector 68. The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old software engineer Mohammad Aslam and his 28-year-old wife Farhana. The grim reality of this tragedy came to light following a chilling email sent hours before the bodies were discovered, coinciding with what was supposed to be Farhana's birthday.

Preliminary investigations by local law enforcement and forensic experts suggest this to be a tragic case of a murder-suicide. Hailing originally from Kerala, the highly educated couple had moved to Gurugram from Bengaluru just three months prior, hoping to build a promising future. However, underlying personal and mental health struggles seemingly culminated in this irreversible catastrophe, leaving investigators striving to piece together the sequence of events.

A Chilling Email Sent to the Employer Prior to the Tragedy

The most crucial clue in the investigation stems from an email dispatched by Mohammad Aslam to his employer around 7 AM on the fateful morning. The message bluntly stated that they were 'leaving this world' and included the contact numbers of his father and the landlord, requesting the company to notify them. Upon reading this alarming communication, colleagues immediately alerted the residential society management and the apartment owner.

Upon arriving at the flat in Tower 7, the landlord and responding officers found the main door ajar. Inside, Farhana's body lay on the floor bearing visible injury marks around her neck, while Mohammad Aslam was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Police forces and forensic teams were promptly dispatched to secure the crime scene and preserve vital evidence.

Forensic Evidence and Ongoing Police Investigation

Crime branch and forensic teams thoroughly scoured the apartment, seizing three laptops, two mobile phones, a diary, a pair of scissors, a pen drive, and a suicide note. Notably, the phrase 'I love you' was found handwritten on Farhana's clothing. Authorities are currently conducting rigorous digital and physical forensic analyses to understand the final moments shared between the couple.

"Our team rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the alert and shifted both bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations. Initial findings strongly indicate that the husband ended his wife's life before taking his own. We have registered a case under relevant sections and are awaiting final medical reports." — Local Police Investigating Officer, Gurugram

Corporate Stress and Mental Health Under Scrutiny

Mohammad Aslam was an alumnus of prestigious institutions including NIT Calicut and IIM Indore, while Farhana was also actively engaged as a remote IT professional. Married in 2023, the couple had recently relocated for better career prospects. Relatives have stated there were no overt marital disputes, though it was disclosed that Aslam had been undergoing treatment for depression for approximately a year and a half. Investigators are exploring whether intense corporate pressure played a contributing role in this heartbreaking outcome.
