MG Motor India has officially introduced two new limited-run special editions of its flagship SUV – the MG Hector Blackstorm and MG Hector Snowstorm. Built to cater to buyers seeking distinctive road presence and exclusive exterior styling, both models arrive with dedicated design tweaks, dark-themed cabin aesthetics, and premium equipment packages.
Bold Exterior Styling and Distinctive Highlights
In line with their monikers, both editions feature bespoke styling themes. The Blackstorm edition boasts an all-black exterior finish, giving the SUV a menacing and aggressive road stance. On the other hand, the Snowstorm variant pairs an elegant Pearl White body paint with a Starry Night contrasting black roof.
Both special editions sit on 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels accentuated with vibrant red brake calipers. Additional styling elements include dark chrome inserts across the front grille, logo, skid plates, tailgate garnish, and side body claddings. The headlamp clusters feature smoked bezels, creating a sleek silhouette during nighttime driving.
All-Black Cabin and High-Tech Features
Step inside, and both models welcome occupants with an all-black interior layout. The dashboard and premium leatherette seats are treated with special Storm edition badging and red contrasting accents. Feature highlights include the segment-leading 14-inch HD portrait touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, digital driver cockpit, and ambient lighting.
For passenger protection, the SUVs are equipped with six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), 360-degree high-definition camera, traction control, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Engine Performance and Pricing
Available exclusively in a 5-seater configuration, both the Blackstorm and Snowstorm editions are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine churns out 143 hp of peak power and 250 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a smooth CVT automatic gearbox. There is no manual transmission offered with these limited models.
Pricing for both the MG Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm editions starts at Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This carries a minor premium of around Rs 35,000 over the standard Hector top-spec CVT variant, making it an attractive offering against rivals like Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700.
