The glamorous world of entertainment hides many dark corners that newcomers often have to face. Behind the faces shining on screen lies a long and painful struggle, during which attempts are sometimes made to exploit them. Well-known actress of Bollywood and Marathi cinema, Sonali Kulkarni, recently opened up about such a terrifying experience from her early days during an interview.
Sonali shared that during the early phase of her career, a film director called her for a meeting through his secretary. The secretary gave instructions that felt quite suspicious, asking the actress to wear a saree to the meeting. When Sonali questioned why a saree was necessary for a story narration, she was called to a specific building in the city.
The Suspicious Setup and Dark Room
Recalling the harrowing experience, Sonali stated that upon reaching the venue, the setup looked artificial with just a table and two chairs. However, when she was led inside the narration room, the reality was shocking. The room was pitch dark with a bed placed right in the middle.
Realizing the malicious intentions behind the setup, Sonali did not say a word and immediately walked out of the room. She emphasized that artists must always trust their intuition and stay away from such compromised situations.
