Dhruv Rathee announces protest in London
Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has reached the UK capital, London, and immediately made a major political announcement. He has called for a demonstration in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Parliament Square in London.
In a social media post, Rathee appealed to supporters in London to join the gathering, stating that it is time to raise these issues on an international platform.
Police detention in Gurugram
Prior to his departure for London, Rathee had traveled to India to support demonstrations called by the Cockroach Janata Party regarding electoral issues and the demand for the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation.
However, before a major planned protest in Delhi, Delhi Police detained him from his Gurugram residence. He was released after nearly 18 hours in custody, following which he left the country.
Defamation cases and court summons
Rathee is also facing legal troubles in India, including a criminal defamation suit filed by BJP IT cell member Vikas Pandey. A Saket court summons was recently pasted directly on the front gate of his Gurugram residence.
The dispute stems from a video uploaded in 2018, with the complainant alleging severe damage to personal and social reputation. The court has scheduled the next hearing for October 17 as legal scrutiny continues.
