The Badrinath Yatra has achieved a historic milestone this year, with the number of pilgrims crossing 19.13 lakhs for the first time since the temple gates opened. With more than a month still remaining before the doors close for the winter, the pilgrimage has surpassed all previous records, driven by an extraordinary surge in devotee turnout.

As weather conditions change in the upper Himalayan region and temperatures plummet, the Meteorological Department has issued periodic alerts. However, these warnings have done little to dampen the spirits of devotees. Long queues of vehicles on mountain roads and continuous crowds at the shrine reflect the undiminished enthusiasm of pilgrims, with 14,000 to 18,000 devotees visiting Lord Badri Vishal daily.

With Pitru Paksha currently underway, devotees from across the country are flocking to Badrinath Dham to perform 'Pind Daan' and ancestral rites at the sacred Brahmakapal ghat.
