NEET-UG Paper Leak: CBI Final Charge Sheet Nears Completion
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is all set to file its second and final charge sheet in the much-discussed NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case within the next week. According to senior officials familiar with the investigation, the upcoming report is unlikely to name any government officials or functionaries from the National Testing Agency (NTA) as accused.
This development has sparked mixed reactions and disappointment among aspirants and parents, as the probe has primarily focused on 13 private individuals, including subject experts, coaching center operators, and middlemen, rather than unraveling deeper administrative complicity.
Strict Legal Actions and Evidence Gathered
The federal agency has slapped stringent charges against the accused under various provisions, including criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, destruction of evidence, the Prevention of Corruption Act, and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The agency has submitted 360 witnesses, 422 documents, and 43 physical proofs to the court.
"The final charge sheet will not name any government officials or NTA functionaries as the comprehensive probe did not yield evidence of institutional collusion beyond private players." — Senior CBI Official
Conclusion and Public Outlook
While the investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 controversy reaches its formal conclusion with this final charge sheet, questions regarding institutional accountability and examination security continue to remain subjects of intense public debate across the country.
