Major Crackdown in Uttarakhand: 10 Teachers Fired Over Forged Documents
The education department in Uttarakhand has taken decisive action by terminating the services of ten primary school teachers who secured employment using fake and fabricated educational certificates. The shocking fraud came to light when the documents of these teachers underwent official verification through the Ramnagar Board, which revealed that their certificates were completely bogus. Following the report, the department immediately initiated strict administrative action against the culprits.
This major revelation has raised serious questions about the transparency and robustness of the document verification process during recruitment. Questions are now being raised as to how these fake documents went unnoticed at the time of joining. The education department is currently investigating whether there was any internal complicity or severe negligence by officials during the initial screening process.
Joined in January, Drew Government Salary for Eight Months
According to official records, all ten teachers were appointed to various primary schools in January of this year. Ever since their appointment, they had been regularly conducting classes and receiving monthly salaries from the state exchequer. For eight months, these individuals enjoyed government salaries before the Ramnagar Board verification exposed the reality behind their credentials.
Bageshwar In-charge Basic District Education Officer Asharam confirmed that routine departmental verification flagged discrepancies in their files. Upon sending the credentials for official board checks, the certificates were proven fake, prompting immediate termination orders.
List of Dismissed Teachers and Impact on Rural Schools
The teachers whose services have been terminated include Kamla Devi, Chandra Prakash, Rajni, Lakshmi Arya, Rohit Kumar, Neha, Sanjay Kumar, Arvind Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, and Priyanka. These individuals were posted across various remote and rural schools in the Bageshwar district.
With their sudden dismissal, the schools where they taught are now facing an acute shortage of educators, raising concerns among parents and local communities about the academic future of the students.
Wider Probe Across Uttarakhand
The crackdown is not restricted to Bageshwar alone. Under instructions from Primary Education Director Kunwar Singh रावत, a state-wide investigation is underway to identify hundreds of other teachers whose educational degrees, TET certificates, and domicile documents are under scanner. The government has vowed strict legal action against all individuals involved in securing government jobs through fraudulent means.
