Defamation Case: Legal Troubles Mount For YouTuber Dhruv Rathee As Court Summons Pasted At His Residence

Legal troubles for prominent YouTuber and digital creator Dhruv Rathee have escalated as a Delhi Saket Court's summons in a criminal defamation case has been pasted on the main gate of his residence. The high-profile case has been filed by Vikas Sankshtayan, also known as Vikas Pandey, a member of the BJP IT cell.

The 2018 Video Controversy

The entire legal dispute originates from a video uploaded back in 2018 titled 'BJP IT Cell Part-2'. According to the complainant, Vikas Pandey, the video made baseless and fabricated allegations against him and the BJP IT cell. The video had claimed that an attempt was made to bribe an individual named महावीर प्रसाद through Pandey, and allegations of monetary offers were made to discredit Dhruv Rathee.

The complainant asserted that these claims were entirely false and severely damaged his personal and social reputation, prompting him to seek legal recourse.

Execution of the Summons

According to the complainant's legal representatives, the initial summons was issued back in July 2019, but could not be served directly as Rathee resides in Austria and reportedly avoided receiving notices. However, following recent information regarding his presence in the Delhi-NCR region, the court permitted the implementation of fresh notices.

With court staff facilitating the procedure, the notice was officially pasted at his residence entrance. All eyes are now set on the upcoming court hearing scheduled for October 17.
