The devastating consequences of broken promises and emotional betrayal have once again come to light in a heart-wrenching incident from Uttar Pradesh. A five-year-long love affair met a tragic end when a 24-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after her lover refused to marry her and got engaged to someone else.
A Long-Term Relationship Shattered by Betrayal
According to family members, the victim was in a relationship with a local youth named Narendra Kumar for the past four to five years. The couple shared deep emotional ties and had made promises of marriage, leading to intimate relations over the years. However, the situation took a dark turn when the woman discovered that Narendra had secretly got engaged to another woman.
Cruel Rejection Leads to Desperate Step
Devastated by the betrayal, the woman confronted Narendra and insisted that he fulfill his promise of marriage. Instead of offering reassurance, the accused allegedly flatly refused to marry her. According to the family's allegations, Narendra told her to do whatever she wanted and even provoked her to end her life by consuming poison.
Hospital Death and Police Action
Deeply traumatized by the cruel rejection, the young woman consumed a poisonous substance at home. When her condition deteriorated, her family rushed her to the district hospital, where she tragically passed away during treatment. Additional SP Amita Singh confirmed that a formal case has been registered against the accused based on the family's complaint, and a thorough investigation is currently underway.
