Husband Murdered And Snake Left On Bed: Court Verdict Awaited In Chilling 'Snake Murder Case'

A local court in Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to pronounce its much-awaited verdict today in a chilling and meticulously planned murder case that has gripped public attention. The court had earlier convicted a woman and her lover for murdering her husband by strangulating him and attempting to cover up the crime by placing a snake near his body to fake a snakebite.

Prosecution Demands Maximum Punishment Citing Shabnam Case

During the final hearing, both the convicted wife, Ravita, and her lover, Amardeep, were produced before the court via video conferencing. District Government Counsel K.K. Choubey highlighted the brutal nature of the crime, the motive, and the sophisticated yet sinister method adopted to mislead the police. Citing the infamous Shabnam murder case, the prosecution strongly demanded the death penalty or the strictest possible punishment for the duo, arguing that such calculated brutality warrants no leniency.

How The Sinister Plot Unraveled

The incident dates back to April 12, 2025, when Amit Kashyap was found dead inside his home. The presence of a snake near his bed initially led everyone to believe it was a tragic death due to a snakebite. However, the post-mortem report blew the lid off the conspiracy, confirming that the cause of death was asphyxia due to throttling, not venom. Subsequent police investigations revealed that Ravita and Amardeep were locked in an illicit affair and plotted Amit's murder to remove him as an obstacle. They even procured a snake to plant at the crime scene to make the murder look like a natural tragedy.

Victim's Family Demands Justice

Ahead of the verdict, the victim's grieving mother expressed her anguish, demanding capital punishment for the culprits so they suffer the same agony her son endured. Having spent nearly 17 months behind bars, the convicts await their fate as heavy police security remains deployed outside the court premises.
