From station masters and booking clerks to pointsmen and RPF constables, women have been appointed to all key positions, drawing widespread appreciation from across the country.

While the entire nation celebrates womanhood during Navratri, the North Eastern Railway has translated this sentiment into action. Following a recent visit by the DRM of Lucknow, this innovative experiment was put into practice. From signaling departments to the safe operation of trains, female employees are now handling critical responsibilities with utmost professionalism and dedication.

Breaking Stereotypes and Empowering Workforce

North Eastern Railway CPRO Sumit Kumar stated that the primary objective of this experiment is to break the stereotype that women cannot handle challenging or technical tasks. They have proven that women are fully capable of managing railway stations and train operations seamlessly. The railway administration is also proactively addressing any infrastructure requirements requested by the women staff to ensure a smooth working environment.
