A chilling incident has emerged from Faridabad, where a dispute over a broken mobile phone allegedly led to the death of a young man. In the case of 19-year-old Rajkumar's death, police have arrested his friend, Mufeed alias Mannu. According to the police, the two friends were making reels when Rajkumar's mobile phone broke. An argument and scuffle ensued, during which Mufeed allegedly pushed Rajkumar off a mountain. The accused then reportedly tried to mislead the family by concocting a false story about Rajkumar drowning in a lake.
Mobile Breaks During Reel-Making, Friendship Turns Fatal
According to police, the incident took place on October 4. Gourelal, a resident of Sirohi village in Faridabad's Dhauj police station area, filed a complaint stating that his son, Rajkumar, had gone to his friend Mufeed's place that evening. Mufeed had called Rajkumar to make reels. The two reached near Sirohi Lake, where Rajkumar's mobile phone accidentally fell and broke while they were filming. A heated argument erupted between the two friends. The verbal spat quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Initial police questioning revealed that during this fight, Mufeed allegedly pushed Rajkumar off the Sirohi mountain. Rajkumar suffered severe injuries from the fall and died on the spot.
Fabricated Drowning Story, Body Found on Mountain
When Rajkumar did not return home late that night, his family grew worried. They began searching for him and went to Mufeed's house. When questioned by the family, Mufeed allegedly misled them, claiming that Rajkumar had fallen into Sirohi Lake while taking selfies. Hearing this, the family immediately informed the police, and a search for Rajkumar in the lake commenced. Despite an all-night search, there was no trace of Rajkumar. However, on the evening of October 5, Rajkumar's body was found lying on Sirohi Mountain. The body bore injury marks, which raised the family's suspicions about Mufeed's story. The family immediately accused Mufeed, his father Jamshed, and others of pushing Rajkumar off the mountain and killing him. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Accused Arrested, Police Unraveling the Full Story
Given the gravity of the matter, the Crime Branch AVTS Sikrauna team acted swiftly. After an intensive investigation, the accused, Mufeed alias Mannu, was arrested on October 6 from his residence in Sahsola Patti, Sirohi village. During preliminary police interrogation, Mufeed confessed to pushing Rajkumar. According to ACP Crime Aman, Mufeed pushed Rajkumar off the mountain during an argument over the broken mobile phone, leading to his death. After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene and later tried to evade justice by narrating a false story to the family. The police have taken the accused on a two-day remand and are attempting to connect every piece of the incident. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover every aspect behind this entire crime.
