Despite advancements in modern healthcare, a significant section of society still relies on quacks and unverified home remedies for serious medical conditions. A shocking incident from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has left even medical professionals stunned after a man's attempt to cure his piles using a crude home remedy nearly cost him his life.
Quack's Dangerous Advice Leads to Bizarre Medical Emergency
According to reports, a resident of Kanpur was suffering from severe piles (hemorrhoids). Hesitant to visit a qualified doctor due to social stigma or fear, he sought advice from a local quack. The quack advised him to perform hot stone therapy to get relief from the pain. The man heated a stone and began the therapy, little knowing that his carelessness would soon turn into a life-threatening emergency. During the process, a heavy stone weighing nearly 1.5 kilograms accidentally slipped and entered his body.
Initially, the patient could not comprehend how to deal with the situation. As time passed, the pain intensified, making it difficult for him to walk, sit, or even stand. When the condition became unbearable, his family rushed him to Ursula District Hospital in Kanpur.
X-Ray Reveals Shocking Reality Inside Body
Upon reaching the hospital, the patient initially hesitated to share the exact cause of his distress, merely complaining of piles-related discomfort. However, Dr. Prashant Mishra and his medical team sensed something unusual and advised an X-ray. The scan revealed a massive stone lodged inside the patient's body, leaving the doctors in utter disbelief.
When questioned further, the patient finally confessed to the hot stone therapy incident. Realizing the gravity of the situation—as a foreign object of that size could cause severe internal injuries and complications—Dr. Prashant Mishra planned an immediate surgical intervention. A team of skilled surgeons performed a grueling operation lasting several hours and successfully extracted the 1.5 kg stone.
Doctors Warn Against Quackery and Home Remedies
Following the successful surgery, the patient is currently recovering and is said to be out of danger. Expressing deep regret, he stated that the unbearable pain drove him to take the ill-fated step, and he vowed never to rely on unverified treatments again.
Dr. Prashant Mishra has issued a strong warning to the public, urging them to avoid quacks and internet-based dangerous remedies for sensitive health issues like piles. He emphasized that proper medical diagnosis and treatment by qualified doctors are essential to prevent life-threatening accidents.
