In a tragic incident reflecting the grim consequences of domestic discord, a 29-year-old man lost his life after jumping into a dirty drain following an argument with his wife. The incident, which triggered a massive search and rescue operation, sent shockwaves through the local community and left the man's family shattered.
Heated Argument Leads to Extreme Step
According to police details, the deceased, identified as 29-year-old Ravi, had an altercation with his wife over consuming alcohol. Following a heated argument, an enraged Ravi stormed out of his house and reached near a metro station. In a fit of blind rage, he took the extreme step of plunging into a deep, filthy drain. Passersby who witnessed the harrowing event immediately raised an alarm and alerted local authorities.
Overnight Search by SDRF and NDRF Teams
Upon receiving an emergency call via Dial-112, local police station personnel and fire service units rushed to the spot. Given the heavy water flow and dangerous depth of the drain, specialised teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were roped in. Rescue personnel equipped with safety gear navigated through the treacherous waters throughout the night, defying darkness and challenging conditions, hoping for a miracle.
Body Recovered in the Morning
Despite hours of relentless searching, the darkness hampered immediate discovery. Finally, around 6:00 AM on Thursday, the rescue teams located and retrieved Ravi's body from the drain. The police completed legal formalities and sent the corpse for an autopsy. Authorities stated that while preliminary findings point toward a domestic dispute, a thorough investigation is underway to uncover all surrounding circumstances.
