A dark shadow fell over Jharkhand as two separate and tragic road accidents claimed the lives of four individuals in a single night. These devastating incidents, reported from Sahibganj and Bokaro districts, have left families shattered and raised serious concerns over reckless driving and highway safety.
Sahibganj Truck Collision Wipes Out Lives
The first major accident took place near Keshoro village under the Ranga police station limits in Sahibganj. According to local reports, a speeding truck rammed violently into an e-rickshaw, crushing it completely. Two passengers died on the spot, while a third succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the hospital.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nitin Khandelwal identified the deceased as Sahil Sheikh (18), Qayoom Khan (24), and Kishore Sah (28). The injured individuals, Suraj Khan and Ahil Khan, are currently receiving medical treatment. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene following the collision. Police have seized both vehicles and initiated a manhunt to nab the absconding driver.
Bokaro Auto-Rickshaw Crash
In a parallel tragedy, another fatal accident occurred late Thursday night in the Kashi Jaria area of Bokaro. According to Pindrajora police station in-charge Ravi Kumar, an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a heavy truck, resulting in the instant death of a 50-year-old passenger travelling in the auto. The body has been sent for an autopsy as authorities continue their investigation into both unfortunate incidents.
