A massive administrative action has been taken in the wake of the tragic boat accident in Bihar, where 14 innocent children lost their lives. Following widespread outrage and initial probes into the administrative lapses, Raghopur CO Deepak Kumar has been removed from his position.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The incident occurred on October 13 near the Rampur Shyamchand panchayat in the Raghopur block, where a boat carrying children capsized in the Ganga river. The tragic drowning of 14 children sent shockwaves across the region, triggering immense grief and anger among locals.
Initially, the district administration withheld the salaries of Raghopur CO Deepak Kumar and the local Station House Officer (SHO), demanding an explanation for the security lapses. With the situation escalating, an official order was issued to remove CO Deepak Kumar from his post. To ensure administrative continuity, Patepur CO Prabhat Kumar has been given the additional charge.
Political Backlash and Demands
The tragedy has also triggered sharp political reactions. Opposition leaders slammed the administration over delayed rescue operations, lack of oxygen in ambulances, and inadequate medical facilities at hospitals, demanding strict accountability and support for the grieving families.
