A video capturing the moments just before a planned 'Tiranga March' in the national capital has taken social media by storm. On Friday afternoon, a Delhi Police team arrived at the residence where CJP founder Abhijit Dipke is staying. The house belongs to NCP-SCP spokesperson Aneesh Gavande. The viral video shows a rather unexpected and calm interaction between the activist and the law enforcement officers.
Serving Cold Drinks with the Tricolour on the Shoulder
In the widely circulated video, the police officer and Abhijit Dipke can be seen sitting face-to-face. A bottle of Coca-Cola and documents rest on the table. Contrary to a tense confrontation, Dipke appears completely composed, draped in the national flag over his shoulder, and can even be seen offering a cold drink and water to the police officer. The interaction took place shortly before he was scheduled to leave for Connaught Place.

Background of Protests and Arrests
The police visit and the proposed march trace back to protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and SIR. Earlier, CJP activists Sourabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka had reached near Jantar Mantar carrying the national flag, following which police detained and subsequently arrested them. Both activists are currently lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody. In protest against these arrests, Dipke had announced a Tiranga march at Central Park.
Prior to the visit, Dipke had claimed that unmarked vehicles were trailing him and alleged intelligence surveillance. However, the viral footage showed a peaceful dialogue between the two sides as police handed over a notice under Section 29 of the Delhi Police Act.
Understanding Section 29 of the Delhi Police Act
Section 29 empowers police commissioners or senior officers not below the rank of inspector to issue verbal or written directions for maintaining public order. This includes regulating public processions, assembly routes, timings, and preventing obstructions. While it gives authorities the power to manage crowds and traffic, legal validity depends on specific orders and judicial precedents.
