Renowned rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh has found himself entangled in a fresh controversy. A video capturing an objectionable remark made by him during a live concert in Delhi went viral across social media platforms, triggering widespread public outrage and eventually reaching law enforcement agencies. Consequently, Honey Singh had to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell in connection with the case.
The Viral Video and What Honey Singh Said
The incident dates back to a popular concert held in Delhi. During the performance, Honey Singh referenced the winter weather in Delhi, making a personal remark about intimacy inside a car while openly advocating for safe physical relations and the use of condoms.
While the audience present at the venue laughed and cheered, the internet reacted sharply once the video surfaced online. Several social media users branded his language indecent and contrary to basic stage etiquette. Critics questioned whether artists should exercise more restraint and raised concerns about the negative impact such statements could have on young audiences.

Apology Issued and Cyber Cell Investigation
Amid mounting backlash, Honey Singh released a video statement clarifying his stance. He explained that he had recently interacted with gynaecologists and sexologists who expressed deep concern over rising sexually transmitted infections among youth due to unsafe practices.
According to the rapper, his intention was to deliver a message about safe sex and condom usage to young listeners. However, he acknowledged that the language he chose to convey the message offended many people. He tendered an apology and assured that he would be much more careful with his words in the future.
Despite the apology, a formal complaint was registered, prompting the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to initiate an inquiry and issue a summons to the rapper. After initially seeking extensions, Honey Singh appeared before the investigating agency. The matter remains under legal scrutiny, with further actions dependent on the findings of the ongoing probe.
