A horrifying incident highlighting the menace of quackery has come to light in Uttar Pradesh, where an illegal and botched abortion procedure performed by an untrained technician left a minor girl battling for her life. The reckless operation severely ruptured her uterus and damaged her intestines, requiring major emergency surgery. Fortunately, doctors at the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur managed to save her life.
The Dark Reality of Unregistered Clinics
According to reports, the illegal abortion was performed on a minor schoolgirl on the night of October 9 at an unregistered facility. A quack technician named KP Mishra, alias Monu, attempted the surgical procedure without any formal medical qualifications or adherence to safety protocols. This resulted in catastrophic internal damage.
As the girl began bleeding profusely and her condition deteriorated rapidly due to intense agony, her family rushed her from pillar to post to seek medical intervention, ultimately bringing the horrific crime and negligence to light.
Emergency Surgery and Critical Recovery
Due to the severity of the damage, the girl's uterus was ruptured, and her small intestine was so severely lacerated that surgeons had to surgically remove a portion of it. After initial treatment options failed locally, she was rushed in critical condition to BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur.
Dr. Durgesh Kumar and his medical team performed a complex emergency surgery to stabilize the victim. While her life has been saved, she remains in a delicate state of health and is under strict medical observation.
Action Against the Illegal Medical Practice
The incident has exposed severe loopholes in local healthcare monitoring. Taking strict cognizance of the matter, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Rajiv Nigam ordered the immediate sealing of the unauthorized hospital and initiated stringent legal proceedings against the accused quack. Authorities have promised unsparing action against those running illegal medical rackets.
