Rajasthan Ministers Highlight Govt Achievements on Law and Order and Water Mission

Ministers in the Bhajanlal Sharma-led Rajasthan government have strongly defended their administration's performance, focusing on law and order improvements and large-scale drinking water initiatives across the state. During a recent media conclave session, Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham and Energy Minister Suresh Singh Rawat outlined key achievements and responded to opposition criticism.

Strict Action on Crime and Women Safety Initiatives

Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham claimed that systematic efforts by the government have resulted in a more than 14 percent decrease in overall crimes compared to the previous tenure. He mentioned the formation of specialized units like the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and Anti-Gangster Task Force to crack down on criminal elements.

Highlighting women's safety, Bedham spoke about the active role of the 'Kalika Unit' in patrolling and ensuring a secure environment. Responding to criticisms raised by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot regarding the state's law and order, Bedham asserted that the administration takes immediate cognizance of untoward incidents and ensures stringent legal action without political bias.

Addressing Water Scarcity through ERCP and Jal Jeevan Mission

Addressing the state's perennial water crisis, Energy Minister Suresh Singh Rawat acknowledged the geographical challenges faced by Rajasthan. He criticized the implementation of past projects while assuring that the current government is fully committed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Har Ghar Jal' vision.

Rawat emphasized the significance of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), stating that the approximately Rs 96,000 crore project will benefit 17 districts and nearly 40 percent of the state's population. Beyond providing drinking water, the project aims to facilitate irrigation across four lakh hectares of land and support industrial growth.
