Madhya Pradesh, widely celebrated as the 'Cheetah State', witnessed an extraordinary and grand spectacle showcasing a unique blend of wildlife conservation and women empowerment. To mark the completion of four years of Project Cheetah, over a thousand women and girl students came together to create a massive and captivating human rangoli depicting 'Mukhi', India's first indigenous female cheetah. The visuals and videos from this spectacular event have quickly gone viral across various social media platforms.
A Unique Initiative Under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
The grand event was organized under the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', witnessing enthusiastic participation from thousands of women, Self-Help Group (SHG) members associated with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), and students. Dressed in attires matching the colors and patterns of a cheetah's coat, the participants meticulously formed a giant replica of the animal on the ground. A large number of local residents and senior administrative officials gathered at the venue to witness this remarkable display of community engagement and artistic coordination.
The Significance of Indigenous Cheetah 'Mukhi'
Female cheetah 'Mukhi' holds a special place in India's wildlife history. Born in Kuno National Park, Mukhi is the offspring of 'Jwala', a cheetah brought to India from Namibia. Following the extinction of cheetahs from India around 70 years ago, Mukhi holds the distinction of being the first cheetah to be born on Indian soil in modern history. Her growth and subsequent successful litter have been hailed as monumental milestones in India's ambitious cheetah reintroduction program.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Applauds the Effort
Praising this creative tribute, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared an encouraging message on social media, stating that the creation of a massive human rangoli of cheetah Mukhi by over 1,000 women and students is both inspiring and extraordinary. He noted that such initiatives under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan highlight the state's firm commitment to wildlife conservation driven by active public participation.
