Political friction in Punjab continues to intensify as senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sunil Jakhar raised serious concerns over governance, law and order, and corruption during the 'Panchayat Aaj Tak Punjab' event. Jakhar didn't mince words while criticizing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration over its policies and operational style.
Accusations of Running Punjab Like a 'Company'
Targeting the AAP government, Jakhar alleged that the state of Punjab is being operated almost like a private "company." Pointing towards the Punjab Development Commission (PDC), he questioned the recruitment of high-priced outside experts and their influence over strategic state policies. He also highlighted controversial land acquisition processes around Ludhiana and Mohali, noting that the government had to back down following fierce public resistance.

Demanding Probes Into Properties and Governance Failures
Expressing deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, Jakhar claimed that citizens no longer feel safe in the state. He urged for comprehensive investigations into the assets of leaders across all political parties, rather than targeting a single faction, to uncover the sources of disproportionate wealth accumulation. Jakhar also emphasized that tackling the severe drug menace requires rigorous administrative action rather than mere political rhetoric.
