Political activity has intensified across the country as the opposition steps up its strategy against the ruling dispensation from Parliament to the streets. The Delhi High Court is currently hearing crucial matters related to the sealing of the Jantar Mantar protest site and allegations regarding unauthorized entry during demonstrations. Following a major decision by the Ministry of Home Affairs, all forms of agitations and protests at Jantar Mantar have been prohibited, sparking widespread political debates.
Meanwhile, following massive 'March for Democracy' rallies against alleged vote tampering and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, opposition parties have amplified their coordination. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has invited INDIA bloc MPs, civil society representatives, and student organization leaders to a special 'High-Tea' at his official residence today to strategize future actions and discuss ongoing nationwide movements.
Political War Of Words Over Demonstrations
The wave of protests has triggered intense friction between the ruling party and the opposition. West Bengal minister and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh strongly criticized the INDIA bloc's protests, alleging that opposition figures routinely target democratic institutions, the Supreme Court, and the executive with derogatory remarks. In contrast, Rahul Gandhi expressed gratitude to all participants involved in the democratic marches, while BJP leaders counter-alleged that the opposition is peddling baseless narratives.
State-Wide Unrest From Bihar To Rajasthan
Beyond the national capital, regional agitations are gaining momentum. In Patna, student wings AISA and RYA organized a march from Gandhi Gandhi Maidan to Raj Bhavan, demanding the immediate rollback of the SIR process and the cancellation of upcoming elections in Bihar and Bengal, keeping local administration on high alert. Additionally, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced plans to launch a massive state-wide protest in Rajasthan over the alleged arbitrary detention, house arrest, and manhandling of student and social activists by police.
